 For parents, caregivers, health care providers, and teachers, concerns and questions often arise regarding the care and well-being of individuals with Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome. 

Oogafwijkingen komen bij meer dan 80 procent van de kinderen met RTS voor. Het gaat dan met name om scheelzien (strabismus), ooglenstroebelingen (staar) en traanbuisverstoppingen. Het is aan te raden om op jonge leeftijd met het kind naar een oogarts te gaan. Bij jonge kinderen kan een verhoogde druk in de oogbol (glaucoom) aanwezig zijn. Dit kan ernstige gevolgen hebben voor het gezichtsvermogen. Ongeveer de helft van de kinderen heeft rond de schoolleeftijd een bril nodig.
